Square shaped ten-acre parcel is easy to access and beautifully wooded. I have to say it-- for gosh sake, look at the photos-- driving onto this parcel, it's one of the prettiest pieces of land I've ever seen.
Measures approximately 674 feet East/West, by 647 feet North/South. In my opinion this is the perfect shape for a ten-acre parcel-- square, instead of long and skinny. Think about it-- when you stand in the center of a the typical long ten-acre parcel, it's only 165 feet to the line on either side. With a square parcel, it's 330 feet from the center to every side. It's the same amount of land, but it feels bigger. You'll find many ideal spots to build or set up camp. Park a camper out here year 'round if you want, there are no restrictions. This is a beautiful forest over rolling hills. Note: This is one I took back recently. As you'll see from the photos, they left behind the skeleton of an old greenhouse, a camper, and three of those water tanks. It all comes with the property as-is. The camper isn't in great shape, but there might be some parts you can salvage. Road AccessThis Parcel is accessed by a private deeded easement. That means you'll always be guaranteed the right to use it. Physically, it's a very nice two-track drive, easily traveled. If you want winter access, you'll probably want your own plow. UtilitiesThis property is a considerable distance from useable power. These days, with so much low-power tech available, that's not as big a deal as it used to be. A few solar panels and some batteries, with a generator backup, is a lot cheaper than running utility power, and is all you'll need for a weekend hunting cabin. I've lived off-grid for years at a time, and I'm happy to give you some good tips on this if you want them. For water and sewage-- hey, you're out in the countryside. If you want these, you'll have to put in your own well and septic. You'll find plenty of high and dry spots with sandy/loamy soil. You'll have no problem with drainage, and can put a septic tank and drain field almost anywhere you like. BoundariesAll the corners are flagged with steel posts, painted bright orange. The corners are not professionally surveyed, but are reasonably accurate. Tips on Finding This LandThis parcel is split from a parcel that was originally 160 acres. My signs for Parcels V1 through V12 are easily seen from the road. To find the others, you'll have to drive up the private easement which begins on 15 Mile Rd. at the NE corner of Parcel V1, and runs south. There's a link at-left that says Plat. Be sure to print a copy of the Plat. The aerial photo and dimensions will help you find the corners for each parcel. About this LocationOsceola County is, in my opinion, one of the prettiest in all of Michigan. The land is hilly, and there are lots of lakes and streams. This property is located:
HuntingExcellent hunting. I scared up dozens of deer while walking on this land. I didn't actually see any turkey, but I did see signs. There are several water sources nearby, and plenty for the wildlife to eat. Local Attractions
If you're looking for a place where the hunting is great, you can leave a camper year 'round, build a cabin or tiny-house, and not have anyone hassle you-- yet you're only a ten minute drive away from a dip in the lake or a steak dinner and a cold beer-- this is the place. | ||||||||
